For the fourth year running, the Association des Amis de Mgr Odin took part in the European Heritage Days at Ambierle church.
On Saturday and Sunday, September 21 and 22, 2024, the Association des amis de Mgr Odin set up an exhibition of Mgr Odin’s liturgical ornaments in place of the permanent exhibition panels on the life of the first bishop of Texas.
Three chasubles, his sandals, a stole, a maniple and a burse, and above all his mitre were presented to the public. Also on display was the Texan flag donated to the association by the group of Texan seminarians from Rome in 2023. This flag is unlike any other: it flew for one day over the Texas State Capitol in Austin, as attested by the certificate signed by the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Texas House of Representatives, also on display. It’s a symbolically powerful gift that represents the link between Ambierle and Texas.
